The old K&P railway line is now part of the Trans Canada Trail and runs right through the village, great for walking and cycling, and Sharbot Lake Provincial Park has a beach and campsites on the water.
A cottage for rent on Sharbot Lake is easy to reach from three cities and offers swimming, bass and pike fishing, and paddling among islands, with a summer farmers’ market and a few cafés in the village. Sharbot Lake is about 1 hour from Kingston, 1½ hours from Ottawa and 3 hours from Toronto.
