Georgina covers Lake Simcoe’s south shore, from Keswick to Pefferlaw, with the old cottage villages of Jackson’s Point and Sutton at its heart. Sibbald Point Provincial Park has one of the best beaches on the lake, and beside it the little St. George’s Church is where author Stephen Leacock is buried. The Briars, a historic resort, has stood on the shore for over a century.
A cottage for rent in Georgina is an easy summer escape for families from the city — sandy beaches, sunsets over the lake, boating and fishing — and a winter base for ice fishing. Jackson’s Point is about 1¼ hours from Toronto.
