Sauble Beach is one of the longest freshwater beaches in Canada, about 11 km of fine sand on Lake Huron with shallow water that warms up quickly in July and August. The main beach has a lively strip of ice-cream shops and patios, while the north and south ends are quieter. Sauble Falls Provincial Park, just north, has small waterfalls where you can watch salmon jump in the fall.
A cottage for rent in Sauble Beach is a classic family summer: beach all day, Lake Huron sunsets every evening and the Sandfest sand-sculpture festival in August. Wiarton and Owen Sound are 20–30 minutes away. Sauble Beach is about 3 hours from Toronto.
