Lion’s Head is a small harbour village on the Georgian Bay side of the Bruce Peninsula, named for the rock face on the cliffs above Isthmus Bay. The Bruce Trail’s Lion’s Head loop climbs to lookouts over white cliffs and blue water, and the village has a sandy beach, a marina and a lighthouse replica on the pier.
A cottage for rent near Lion’s Head gives you quieter days than Tobermory, with Miller Lake’s warm inland water and the dramatic shoreline at Cape Croker and Dyer’s Bay nearby. Tobermory and the Grotto are about 40 minutes north. Lion’s Head is about 3¼ hours from Toronto.
