Lake Bernard, beside the village of Sundridge, is known as one of the largest freshwater lakes in the world without a single island — a wide, clear lake that warms up nicely in summer. Sundridge has a sandy town beach, a dock for swimming, a few shops and restaurants, and a relaxed small-town feel along Highway 11.
A cottage for rent on Lake Bernard is great for families: easy swimming, sailing and paddleboarding, and quick trips north to South River and Mikisew Provincial Park or east to Algonquin’s quieter north side. In winter, the lake is busy with ice fishing and snowmobile trails. Sundridge is about 3 hours north of Toronto.
