Discover Dunnville & Lake Erie shore

Dunnville sits on the Grand River a few kilometres before it flows into Lake Erie at Port Maitland, where a long pier is a favourite spot for fishing and sunsets. Along the shore east and west of town, cottage lanes lead down to the lake, with shallow water that warms up quickly in summer — easy swimming for children. Rock Point Provincial Park has a sandy beach and limestone shelves full of fossils, and Byng Island Conservation Area offers trails and a large outdoor pool.

A cottage for rent near Dunnville is an easy escape from Hamilton (about an hour) and the Toronto area (about two hours), with paddling and fishing on the Grand River, small-town festivals in summer and Niagara’s wineries and falls within an hour’s drive. Many shore cottages are rented by the week in July and August.
