Sandbanks Provincial Park protects the largest freshwater baymouth barrier dune system in the world, with towering dunes between West Lake and Lake Ontario. Its Outlet Beach and Sandbanks Beach are among the best in Ontario, with soft sand and shallow water, and the Dunes Beach on West Lake is calm and warm for small children.
A cottage for rent on West Lake or East Lake lets you walk or drive a few minutes to the beach — useful, as park day-use passes sell out on summer weekends — and enjoy calm lake water for paddling at your own dock. Bloomfield and Picton are 10–15 minutes away. Sandbanks is about 2¾ hours from Toronto.
