Its Main Street has restaurants, bakeries, shops and the restored Regent Theatre, and the County’s wineries, cideries and farm stands are all within a short drive. Lake on the Mountain, a small lake high above the bay, is 10 minutes east, beside the free Glenora ferry.
A cottage for rent near Picton is a great base for exploring the whole County: Sandbanks beaches 20 minutes away, the Waupoos shoreline to the east and the wine route everywhere in between. Picton is about 2¾ hours from Toronto and 3 hours from Ottawa.
