Killarney is a tiny fishing village on Georgian Bay at the end of Highway 637, next to Killarney Provincial Park, one of Ontario’s most beautiful parks. The white quartzite ridges of the La Cloche Mountains rise above deep blue lakes like George Lake and O.S.A. Lake — the landscape that inspired the Group of Seven. The Crack trail climbs to one of the best lookouts in the province.
A cottage for rent near Killarney lets you paddle crystal-clear lakes, hike the park, watch the sunset from the lighthouse and finish the day with the village’s famous fish and chips by the harbour. Killarney is about 1¼ hours from Sudbury and about 5 hours from Toronto.
