North Bay sits between Lake Nipissing and Trout Lake, so even in the city you are never far from the water. The waterfront on Lake Nipissing has a long sandy beach, a marina, the Chief Commanda II cruise boat and some of the best sunsets in northern Ontario, while Duchesnay Falls and Laurentian Escarpment trails are minutes from downtown.
A cottage for rent near North Bay puts you on big-lake water with all the services of a city close by — restaurants, groceries, a hospital and an airport. Fishing for walleye and pike is excellent all year, including ice fishing in winter. North Bay is about 3½ hours north of Toronto and 4 hours from Ottawa.
