Wasaga Beach is known as the longest freshwater beach in the world, with about 14 km of soft sand along Nottawasaga Bay and shallow, warm water that is perfect for children. Beach Area 1 is the busy summer hub, while the beaches further west are quieter and more natural, backed by dunes and pine forest.
A cottage for rent in Wasaga Beach is all about summer: swimming, sandcastles, paddling the Nottawasaga River and evening walks at sunset. In winter, the provincial park’s trails are used for cross-country skiing, and Blue Mountain is 30 minutes away. Wasaga Beach is about 1½ hours north of Toronto.
