Blue Mountain Resort is Ontario’s largest ski area, with dozens of runs on the Niagara Escarpment above Georgian Bay and a pedestrian village of restaurants, shops and events at its base. In summer the hill turns into a mountain-bike park with a ridge-top coaster, open-air gondola and hiking trails, and Craigleith Provincial Park has a rocky shoreline for sunsets.
A chalet or cottage for rent near Blue Mountain lets you walk or take a short drive to the lifts in winter, and enjoy beaches, cycling on the Georgian Trail and the Scandinave Spa the rest of the year. Collingwood is 10 minutes east. Blue Mountain is about 2 hours from Toronto.
