Westport is one of the prettiest villages on the Rideau Canal, set on Upper Rideau Lake below the cliffs of Foley Mountain. Its main street has bakeries, cafés, galleries and a brewery, boats tie up at the town docks all summer, and the Spy Rock lookout at Foley Mountain Conservation Area gives a view over the village and the lake.
A cottage for rent near Westport can be on Upper Rideau, Westport Sand Lake, Wolfe Lake or Newboro Lake, all good for swimming, boating and bass fishing. Kingston is about 45 minutes away and Ottawa about 1¼ hours. Westport is about 3 hours from Toronto.
